I have a similar problem. My wife is a Hogwarts alum, Hufflepuff, and the girls prefer using the powers inherited from their mum instead of me. At least they get their left-handed superpowers from me.

When you go to the conference, use the Jedi mind trick and convince the Teacher that this is not the Child who did that deed.
