Rainy day fun! Some of the best fun is splashing puddles right up until the bath to get clean. If you don’t get too dirty, maybe that won’t happen, though. Happy splashing!
Doing a “hockey stop” in a puddle was great as long as you were not the recipient of the shower. We used to have a contest who could produce the biggest shower.
Today’s strip reminds me of one of the “Charley Says…” safety commercials that were shown on UK TV in the 1970s and ’80s. Charley was a cat owned by a boy named Tony. Charley would speak at the end of each commercial and Tony would translate what Charley had said.
In the commercial, Charley and Tony were jumping in puddles near to a canal or river where Tony’s Dad was fishing. Charley accidentally jumped into the water and was drowning until he was fished out by Tony’s Dad. Charley dried out by the fireplace at home and made some purring sounds. Tony translated them to us.
One of the few times a dog will have the absolutely biggest grin on its face is when it is playing in water or mud. Sadly, one of the other times isn’t when they get a bath after that.

Children’s poem: Susie’s galoshes make splishes and sploshes as Susie steps slowly along in the slush.
