BTW, did the Pattersons get a permit to build an extension?? I don’t know how it is in Canada, but in the US, building an extension without a government permit can land a homeowner a prison sentence.
Off topic, but has anyone else noticed the delay when posting a comment? I found out the hard way why. They have created a list of words they won’t allow to be posted and are checking the comments for those words. I got a warning to edit my comment but they won’t say which words are off limits.
As a contractor the greatest compliment we received was a young boy crying when the addition was complete. The woman let him “help” us when it was safe to do so. Such a nice family and such a nice kid. Who knows, maybe he’s building homes himself now. I also made a couple of good friends.

Hard to miss the tension between these two. Notice the way she says, “We”, when she really means “I”. So romantic, if only she wasn’t married.

A handy man is a good man to have around. Maybe she can get the kitchen remodeled soon.

We actually became great friends with our contractor who continued to do beautiful work for us for many years.

In my remodeling days I actually met friends I still have ( and a few people I’d rather forget).

Wall paper? What year was this first published? It would be interesting to see sales figures for wallpaper over the last 30-40 years.

Hard to believe a contractor would be missed, but Mr. Gauthier actually did a good job, as opposed to his j@ck@$$ crew.

I would say, since he calls her “Madame”, she’d use M’sieu (or M’sieur for purists) rather than Mr. At least that’s what we did where I grew up.
