Where else could he find a job that allows him to slack off?

At least he’s “working” inside the store and not standing on the corner outside the store holding a sing about how he can’t find work when the sign in the store window says “Help Wanted”!

A common side effect of laziness!

He sounds like opposite Calvin in today’s strip. Don’t vote and complain versus don’t have a job and not complain. How about complain about being unemployed?

He thinks boredom will give him a license…(he’s actually trying to achieve boredom)

A much worse job is roofer in FL in the summer. Dangerous and sweltering. Sometimes there is lightning.

He is in an air conditioned store and he has time to play on his phone. Sounds good to me.

I learned a long time ago to never, ever say “Things can’t get worse”. Life takes it as a challenge and responds with “Here, hold my beer”.

Just what IS his job?

You can’t complain about a job you’re not doing.
