Local blackbird started broadcasting when it was still dark and continued till the sun was high up… and dawn came about 4:30 here. I feel hangover-ish.
We have two “main” types of birds near our house, both of whom kick off around 5am. The California Towhee, which has a monotonous “chirp” that sounds exactly like the sound a smoke detector makes when its battery is low and they just go on and on and on and on and on, and the Scrubjay which just screams. Both of which make me want to install surface to air missiles in my back garden.

Without my hearing aids, I barely hear birds, if at all.

We have a neighborhood woodpecker that mistakes metal chimney stacks for trees.

Like listening to the mockingbirds, much more interesting than those darn doves.

It’s bragging about the “early worms” it has eaten. Take note.

it’s good that it woke her at five a.m. this morning because if at five a.m. this evening it would’ve been dreadfully awkward.

I feel fortunate where I live. We have very strict noise control rules, even the birds aren’t allowed to tweet before 8.

Big deal, I woke up at around 3, and 5, and 6, and 7:30. Bathroom runs.

Yup. Mockingbirds. Sometimes in the middle of the night. What is the matter with you, bird? Bad enough I get serenaded by coyotes.
