Last I heard it was illegal for anyone but the USPS to deliver mail. §§ 1693–1696 and 39 U.S.C. §§ 601–606, implemented under 39 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 310 and 320. These restrict the carriage and delivery of letter mail by private organizations, except as described in the next section. The PES only cover “letters” and not other mailable items such as parcels or periodicals.
My postlady gets the mail into the box or on the front porch without fail- at least so far. UPS isn’t bad either, but FedEx apparently flies to the correct neighborhood and pushes the package out the back of the plane. What actually gets here is banged up, and I live in the first house on a long dead end street. I have given up delivering Fedex packages to the neighbors. I just leave them on my front drive until someone steals them.
here in japan the postal service finally gave up its one advantage over parcel delivery companies – it recently ended mail deliveries on saturdays and public holidays…
I owned and ran a small tavern in a small town for 23 years ,and made good money and have some investments. If i had run it like the U S post office , I would be on welfare now instead of the good retired life.

Yeah, the US Postal service is in real trouble. But then, why does my local post office have a ‘help wanted’ sign out front?

My mail consists of bills and junk
The bills are enough money as it is, you know they would add a 30 dollar charge for mailing if it came to that
I dont care how much it costs the idiots who send all of the junk

I’m so glad the primary is over and it will probably be a week or more before the election barrage starts.
