That still does not answer the question. A comedian stated once that when your adversary starts to change the subject, that’s when you know you’ve made a valid point. If I were Brutus I would take that statement to mean that I am just as qualified as the new guy.
You walked yourself right into that one, Brutus. As I said a few strips, you need to concentrate on your work instead of always of trying to always kiss up to Veeblefester who doubles as “Stonewall Jackson”!
Sometimes it’s really hard to understand some hirings and promotions. At my last job, I worked under a very competent black woman originally from Florida. We had a part time position open and three people applied. One was a white woman with some experience. One was a white guy with lots of experience and computer savvy. The last was a young black guy with no experience or savvy. The young black guy was hired. Though we didn’t inquire about the manager’s reasoning for the hire, she volunteered that the white guy with experience and great computer skills would leave as soon as he found a full time job. The thing is, the young black guy was also planning on leaving us for a full time job.
Boss should either fire Brutus or promote him. Brutus has the experience with the company with his many years of loyal service that a person off the street will take years to acquire. However, Brutus should also test the waters of Boss’s competitors to see if they could use a man of Brutus’s experience AND KNOWLEDGE of the company’s weaknesses…..

Plus the new guy doesn’t have a history of hindering him around the office either.

Well, it was nice to see Brutus displayed a rare sign of backbone with Veeblefester even if it didn’t get him anywhere.

Well, at least Brutus knows what Veeblefester thinks of him—if he didn’t already know.

The Boss sees Brutus’ balance sheet as having zero assets and a huge number of liabilities.
