@Ling Today’s strip IS funny, our HERO Mr Andrew Capp’s pretending to be stupid to avoid work is priceless :o) my avatar is a photo of our ol friend bev as Shirley Temple to show her that we all still miss her , come passerai il vostro Sabato mio meno vechio Amico? our Saturday should be a little busy but we should cope I hope, we both are in a good mood , no shopping to do or errands to run , just stay inside the house keep hydrated ad avoid getting a Saturday Night Fever ,keep safe and a bientot pal.
Andy tries to stay away from computers. He had heard that there were computer viruses around and he didn’t want to catch one. Little did he know that computer viruses only effect computers. And at that they only take a byte out of a computer a bit at a time.
From the looks of that form the job center does Not find this funny. It’s put him in a bad mood and most likely not to do any shopping and definitely get over hydrated with Lilly the Pink, the Saviour of the human race. Troppo medicato.
I didn’t comment on any strips yesterday as I was having a day out in Shrewsbury, Shropshire with my sister and my brother-in-law. While in Shrewsbury, I found that Wimpy’s Burger Bars have not completely died out after all. The one here in Chester was taken over by Burger King in the 1980s but there are still Wimpy’s bars in some parts of the UK. We found one in Shrewsbury and had lunch there.
As has been mentioned several times before, there was a UK comic called Buster from 1960 to 2000 and the cover strip was originally called “Buster – Son of Andy Capp”. The first edition of Buster was dated 28 May 1960 so today is the 62nd anniversary of the start of one of the UK’s longest running comics.
On 28 May 1995, a picture of Buster appeared on Andy’s wall in the Andy Capp strip to acknowledge the 35th anniversary of Buster Comic.

When you consider, canonically, that Andy was a World War II veteran, it’s amazing he’s able to use the computer as well as he’s doing.

The daft ones are the ones who keep sending him checks each month when he obviously is milking the system.

Tell him to find a job or no more money. Not hard to do.

Good thing Mr. Capp is only a character in a comic strip – if he was human, he’d be a total waste of time!

Maybe he can get a job as a hacker. Nope wrong kind of hacker.

Not as daft as that suit.

Andy always knows what he doing. The fact that no one else can understand that, is not his problem.

Andy can at least be honest with himself. Others, we’re not so sure.

It is important to remember that the Andy Caps of the world are not the majority of unemployed people today. There are too many Andy Caps though.
