Ours have the blanket AND the chew toy. That’s why the blanket is there.

Pets, in my opinion, just see the black and white of everything. Don’t explain. Just cover the couch and let Sophie up there (with chew toy).

Dogs are like men. Just keep it simple. Either you can sit on the couch, or you can’t. Activities are inevitable.

“Sophie! You can lay on the couch… ⏩ …with chew toys… ⏩ …”

I’m with Sophie, this was a very roundabout and needlessly complex way of explaining it.

And unnecessary anyway. The dog’s going to end up on the couch whether you want her to or not. If you really didn’t want the dog on the couch, then you didn’t want the dog either, because in my experience, you can’t have it both ways.

It is fine to have the chew toy on the blanket. The blanket will protect the couch.
