In all honesty, I have never even heard of a four-track tape player. I saw an eight-track or two in my youth, but realized how terrible they were even before I learned my times tables. We hated them in the 70’s, and welcomed the cassette player. This plugger is at least 40 years behind the times.
Most places that sell electronics don’t even sell CD players anymore-the CDs are mostly there to be converted to MP3s on the computer. So, I think I may have to tell mom that the CD player is dead, and that I may be able to get her a nice iPod nano for her music.

I’ve actually got some 8-track tapes…nothing to play them on, but I’ve got ‘em just the same…

My paternal grandparents are in their ’80s and come from the old country, but even they know eight-tracks are long, long gone. Give me a break.

Does this mean if he weren’t a plugger he would find those things in the catalog?

I finally had to let mine go. I had the real nice one with record feature, ff, and one track or repeat track. Or endless play.

My best friend had a 4-track player he got from Muntz in California ~1967/8. Fewer problems than later 8-track units and better sound.

I’ve got some 8-track tapes and one of these days I’d like to transfer the music off of them, but I don’t know if I ever will.

A real Plugger can go through an entire electronics catalog without recognizing a single item!
Hi, crunkbot – glad you’re having fun trolling Gocomics!
