The people that built the house I currently live in where here for 10 years and did nothing with this acre+ but mow. After 28 years, I live in a forest. Mainly planted by me.
Forestry companies are proud to plant new forests. They cut down diverse trees (including hardwoods) and replace them 100% with the fastest growing variety of pine that exists.
It reminds me of the famous Cedars of Lebanon. There are very few of the old forest left, but they have been planting young ones in the area little by little in the Bsharri area. I got to see some up close along the path to the Kadisha Grotto. (It’s a phenomenally beautiful area.)

Was recently replaced by the current sign, which reads: “Gone soon!”

Maybe he planted it for the ants. It would be just their size. And now they can sit under it and enjoy the shade while sipping some lemonade.

Plant one tree a day, make it a lunch thing, and pretty soon you’ll be able to hide your merry band of outlaws.

If a tree was going to grow there it would have done so through natural processes ages ago.

If we judge by flora rather than fauna, these cavemen must be from the Late Devonian period.
