In my day an allowance was a place to eat and sleep!

When you start with minimum wage and subtract for taxes, rent, food and gas, $5 is about all that’s left, if you’re lucky!

Mom: At your age 5 bucks is plenty!

$5 for 25 minutes of work a week, Kid you are over paid.

Actually, it is MORE. Especially if you consider, that you have food, rent, and health insurance taken out. $5 at the end of the week, is actually over the minimum wage, with those expenses taken out.

You get as good as you give. Did anyone mention paying rent yet?
