I remember when Obama first took office. He promised “shovel ready” jobs fixing infrastructure. During a road trip we came across on of those projects, proudly labeled with a big official sign. It was a beautifully paved road out in the middle of no-where, Trees lined both sides of the road, not shops or homes or manufacturing. And of course once the road was done, was the job for those pavers also done? I suspect it was a favor for a donor, but that is just a guess.
