Interesting gocomics changes the pattern of ten years ago strips to this one of 2009. Here is the strip starting the arc of ten years ago this week. https://www.gocomics.com/culdesac/2012/06/18?ct=v&cti=1498567
In the next town over is a monstrosity of tube slides. I never really paid much attention to it (not having kids or grandkids) until I saw it in this strip. We have to pass it every time we go into Washington City and I’ve never seen any kids in or on it. It’s probably too hot in the summer but it should be OK in the spring and summer. Even the winter time would be ok because they don’t get snow. Does it really scare little kids?
Beats me how would a spider end up in a drawer. In all my life, I’ve never come across any bug, let alone a spider, in any of our dresser drawers. We have spiders showing up in spring, but they are mostly close to the corners of a window, or the ceiling, and a swish with a vacuum gets it…
I’m afraid of sliding my foot into my tall rubber work boots and there being a spider in there that bites my toe. I am not afraid of tube slides, but, as I get older, I am afraid of doctors examining my tubes.

I wonder what’s the first thing on Petey’s fear list.

What sicko designs a slide like that? The kid falls 6 feet to the bottom and barley slides at all! No wonder Alice is scared!

Love to see Petey’s entire list.

Dill thinks if he can get her to do this, it will be an opportune time to pledge his troth, kneeling, at the moment she exits the slide.

The slide has shrunk!

Talk about scary slides I went on years ago—how about a seemingly vertical 100 foot drop at Typhoon Lagoon, Disney World. Never again.

I was always more afraid of the open slides with the heat absorbing shiny stainless steel slope that would sear the skin off of your legs!

I’m just wondering how many kids entered the slide at the top but never emerged at the bottom. Now there’s something to ponder!

I am not so surprised at Petey’s having a list as I am at his having memorized it! Well done, My Hero!
It’s refreshing to see Alice ’fessing up to her trusted Big Brother….
