There’ve been a pretty fair number of big-name baseball players who’ve corked their bats at some point in their careers. Albert Belle and Sammy Sosa are probably the most notorious, but even Babe Ruth and Pete Rose are believed to have tried corking.
Ed the Red posted a link on bat corking – strictly on physics the batter is worse off. The book author stated that the one measurable is the mental component – if the batter is in a better mental state, that could give him enough of a boost to overcome the bat limitations.
