When my daughter was a teenager, I found the most effective motivation was to take her phone away until her chores were done. One time she said, “That MY phone!! Give it back.” I told her, “I pay for it, its mine. Since I don’t need two phones, I am letting you borrow this one. You can have it back when your chores are done.” I got the teenage eye roll.
