There are none. Guns in homes mean more dead kids, more dead women.

People in homes with handguns more likely to be shot dead, major study findsResearchers find ‘zero evidence of any kind of protective effects’, with women at particular risk

Even the cops are too terrified to take on the guns that NRA say AREN’T assault weapons.

The delusion that guns make us safer persists, but the so-called good guys with guns only put themselves and everyone around them in danger. I know a guy who almost shot his own kid because he thought he was an intruder. Kid was getting a midnight snack in his own home.

Where have many good guys gone, long time passing? Where have many good guys gone, long time ago? Where have many good guys gone? Shooters have picked them off one by one. Oh, when will we ever learn? Oh, when will we ever learn?

Where have many school kids gone, long time passing? Where have many school kids gone, long time ago? Where have many school kids gone? Shot by deranged people one by one. Oh, why can’t Congress ever learn? Oh, why can’t Congress ever learn?

The myth that a untrained, or briefly trained person with a gun will use it wisely is an attractive fanstasy. The odds are more likely that, while waiting for that “special hero day”, the gun will kill someone in your household, someone you are merely angry with, a teenager trying his hand at burglary or yourself.

I went through some combat training. Even in a simulated firefight, you get confused, shoot at the wrong time, in the wrong direction, the wrong person or are surprised by the second shooter you didn’t think about. In a urban environment, your weapon could easily kill someone in another apartment or several blocks away. You are NEVER going to be the Lone Ranger!

The police, with all their jumped-up military-grade black rip-stop nylon uniforms, Flak vests, and helmets – useful, certainly, when issuing a parking ticket (!) – are otherwise just not doing the job – I think it’s all about image.

Might I suggest that instead – given their sterling performance in Uvalde – they dress in suits and ties, ’cause:

If they dress like senators, everyone will understand why they just sit around talking and,

    DO NOTHING!

    NOT ONE VERKAKTE THING!!

    AND CHILDREN ARE DYING!!!

AND THEY STRUT AROUND LIKE THEY’RE SOMEHOW EFFECTIVE?

    HELLO?

    CAN THEY HEAR US?

OR ARE THEY JUST NOT LISTENING, SITTING THERE, COUNTING THEIR NRA BRIBES?

(Am I being too harsh for their little snowflake ears?)

Okay, just because some police officers did some incredibly stupid and hateful things, does not mean that all police officers are bad. I actually know some who are very kind and trustworthy. The police do keep us safe. Just some of them are idiots, as some people are.
