My kid was as nervous as a cat in a rocking chair display before he got his first shots (after he was old enough to understand what was going to happen). But after it didn’t hurt, didn’t bleed AND he got a nice piece of candy, he started wondering if he could get another one…
By now I must have seen hundreds of TV images of people getting vaccinated, and the miracle is that hardly anyone as much as winced. When I remember the fat hypodermic needles of my long-ago childhood, I am grateful for medical progress.
I’ve had all the required shots, but I’ve never felt the needle, so the nurses have had good training!! However, later I feel the flu symptoms, but next morning it’s gone!!
I’ve been getting shots for the better part of 73 years. When I was in the military and on world-wide travel, I was a pin cushion if my shot record could be believed.
In all of that time. I’ve had only ONE “bad stick.” Almost all, I never feel at all.
The ones I really felt were the repeated sticks ( they went through three different nurses) to put the IV in for a colonoscopy. Since I was dehydrated, the veins kept collapsing or something, and they had to keep starting over in different places.

A skilled nurse can make a flu shot practically painless.

I remember getting the booster shots when I was in nursery school. Back in the 60’s it was a huge shot and us baby boomers all have the same mark.

But it should be pretty easy to decipher. Notice he doesn’t have a lollipop or a sticker…

If he didn’t she’s pissed, because she slipped the doctor a lot of money to make sure it hurt as much as possible!

Shots usually aren’t that bad unless they have to go deep into muscle. The injecting hurts worse than the stick.

I’m not sure how they did my COVID shots, but I barely felt those at all.

He was heart broken because they ran out of dinosaur band-aids just before. Plenty of Hello Kitty left though.
