Balloons in the air will eventually land, which is potentially bad for animals.

I like that trend. All the noise is ha‍rd on the pets. And a lot of vets. And even anybody who’s nervous without the PTSD. And it’s polluting (the black powder is more or less okay, but those beautiful colors? Heavy metals.

There’s a town in Oregon that’s going to have a laser light show on the 4th. What a GREAT idea!

Balloons aren’t much more environmentally friendly, though

Listen I’m all for the environment and everything and I understand fireworks scare the cats and dogs. but it’s once a year and given the past two years we’ve had, let’s Let out hair down just a little bit

You misspelled bidet

There’s a whole lot less independence to celebrate this year.

I can live with the fireworks, but a POX on all the jerks who fire them off between 11 pm and 3 am.

But possibly an even worse one—balloons are also an environmental disaster

Yeah, we live in the woods, so fireworks aren’t a good idea here.

I love fireworks but If we did away with the loud boomers, it would still be a beautiful display. And they should be for the one night, not for a week! That way those with sensitive pets can make arrangements for a half hour or so, one night.

Unless you’re a helium breather, those balloons aren’t gonna stay up by themselves, let alone in a neat arrangement.

Now, if they would just figure out recyclable or biodegradable materials for the balloons, we’d be all set!

I dunno… continuing to use plastics, which ruin our environment and accelerate climate change, or instant gratification of blowing things up and leaving your paper and gunpowder residue all over everywhere for someone else to clean up? Six of one, half dozen of the other….

Balloons are bad for the environment.

But blowing things up and being a nuisance to our neighbors are two things that make America great!

Still waiting to see of the 4th of July is replaced by the 6th of January.
