I’m surprised I’ve never heard of this before. Some pretty incredible stuff.

Let me guess, Jason: you once had fifteen cargo ships stuck in the Suez Canal

Shouldn’t that read “Das ist ein besser Kaffee”? Otherwise she is saying it’s a gooder coffee.

In Russia coffee brewers have probably found it more economical to use rubles as coffee filters.

Yeah! Yeah! Melitta invented the coffee filter and drank a liter, meanwhile Carl Friedrich said “That’s not my cup of tea”, put the T out of his name and invented the automobile…

Well, I think Mrs. Olson of the Folgers Coffee Commercials in the 60s and 70s was German…but that couldn’t have been her! Or was it? BION!

Also pigs with little holes are called piglets, and chickens with little holes are called chiclets

And who was intelligent enough to bring Ms.Bentz’s invention to America?

Well, Melitta, that’s good and all about no grounds, but you can taste the paper. My wife and I tried the experiment one time, using two identical french press coffee makers. In one, no filter, in the other, added filter. Bottom line: you can taste the paper. We didn’t go so far as to test a wide variety of filter brands, so your mileage may vary. And, no, I don’t remember if the filter we used was the Melitta brand.

A few grounds at the end of the cup are acceptable to me, who have been known to occasionally chew whole coffee beans. (Try them chocolate-coated! Yum!!!)
