Little boys are different. They gotta do it.

Eddie still has energy for more

Oh to have the engery of a child again.

It’s too bad we can’t tie kids to a treadmill hooked up to a generator. At least we can’t according to CPS.

If there was just some way to harness that energy.

When our dogsitter would take them out to her ranch, she got worried about them losing weight. “Are they eating?” asked my wife. “Yes.” “Then don’t worry. They’re just getting more exercise than at home.” At home they had about a 75’ yard to run back and forth in. At the ranch, she’s let them run free when she went to get the mail at the far end of the driveway, maybe half a mile. They’d run ahead, run back to her, run ahead, run back …

There is an interesting little book titled “Real Boys.” It was written by Dr. William Pollack, who was the head of adolescent psychology at McLean Hospital in 1998. In it, Dr. Pollack posits that boys communicate more through physical action than girls, whereas girls communicate more through speaking than do boys.

If we could harness that energy, the energy crisis would not exist.

Yep—all those extra steps add up!
