I have a friend who refuses to use chemical pesticides in his garden.

As a result, every year, he has a problem with Japanese beetles!!

Botrytis? Well as long as it’s Bo Derek au naturel in the garden, I wouldn’t mind what Bo tried this on the geraniums.

The solution IS NOT to immediately head for the poisons!

Insects are on the decline due to all the spraying. Eventually it will just be another environmental disaster, especially with the bees. I let most bugs do their thing except for cabbage caterpillars and sawfly caterpillars. Even I have limits. Besides, I don’t think cabbage worms are in danger of extinction.

Good to see Greg and Lawrence together on one thing anyway…

No, it’s NOT impressive. Having survived the slave armies of America (i.e., the draft), I’m overjoyed to say I did not have the chance to be impressive.

It IS funny, but dishonoring to those who actually served in life & death situations!

I don’t need to worry about insects on flowers, the danged deer eat everything I don’t put behind a fence.

Never sprayed for bugs, but then again I don’t grow vegetables

For a minute there I thought Michael got another job…

If things aren’t eating your plants, it’s not part of the ecosystem. Team bug!

Long Island—1960’s.We were plagued with Japanese Beetles—-you could fill a jam jar with them in less than an hour.And thosethings ATe LeAVes!!

Trouble with chemicals is that they kill indiscriminately, all the beneficial insects along with the “pests”. Use ladybugs for aphids, pick Japanese beetles off and drop them in a bucket of soapy water, etc. It’s just too dang easy for folks to grab the poisons and spray anything and everything. The majority of people don’t use nor handle them properly. No wonder bees and butterflies are in jeopardy.

Uh oh. I wonder if their using Round-Up?

Good news! Elly and Connie got their legs back!

Here is the last appearance of Greg Thomas for nine years. He has served his purpose by throwing out his daughters (successfully) and throwing out his step-son (unsuccessfully) and making Connie Poirier into an honest woman married to a rich guy (so now she matches Elly). A job well done Greg. Now there is no use for you. Good-bye!! Come back when you retire.

Catterpilars turn into butterflies. Aphids can be battled with soapy water and/or ladybug larva.
