buenos días y feliz caturday/sábado/samstag/saturday/lwomukaaga/sábado(7) locos still haven’t heard back from gocomics why they don’t like the spanish word for afternoon.
I hate to leave cleo and johnny behind for our trip, so hopefully they will see the comments and join us for some fun.
I found something different for us to do: Uganda Reptile Village. Nice place to hang out until we can get the group all together. We are not far from Lake Victoria , so the kayak will be needed later on in the month.
“A major function of the village is to educate people so that they overcome a fear of reptiles and take an interest in their conservation.
Come see over 50 reptiles with 20 different species on display from cobras, boomslangs, skinks, monitor lizards, tortoises and the most poisonous snake in Africa the Gaboon Viper. One enclosure is an open basin, as the species hosted there are non-climbing. Another basin is home for four different species of tortoises, your children will love watching these slow but fun animals eat their vegetables. Walking down the gentle slope you will reach the present location of the chameleons. At the end of the compound opens into a swamp area. This swamp is an ideal place for animals like reptiles, birds and monkeys to breed and feed. In the near future we plan to add another enclosure for crocodiles.
The reptiles on display are rescured from within Uganda and given a safe home."
Carmy and I came within one second or one footstep away from being killed or horribly Injured yesterday. We were hiking and had a fully grown doe who was running at full speed nearly t-bone us as she ran directly in front of us from a blind spot hidden by bushes. Carmy would probably have been hit with her hooves and I would have been driven into unforgiving hard, uneven, protruding landscape. I would probably have a broken back and limbs. Carmy might have been hit hard in her head and ribs by her hooves. It was the very closest we could get to a catastrophe. Yet we were not touched. I still felt a bit in shock this morning.
