As setting the tree up moved further away from Christmas into November, fresh trees became impractical (or alt least a fire hazard). I guess blame it on Christmas becoming a “season”.
Artificial trees can be reused over and over again. I’ve an artificial tree that’s 20 years old and is still quite nice. And 20 trees have been spared the axe.

I wish more people understood this. Artificial trees should be banned.

Only reason we have an artificial is 2-3 trips to the vet with a bellyful of needles.
