Sleepy Pruitt probably does not like the fact that he cannot tell friends and relatives to place bets on a team he intends to bone as he has been neutralized thus limiting his coin. I bet John Shulock made some money this way and I have my suspicions about Angel Hernandez.
I’d like the balls & pucks of all major sports to have accurately placed chips so that crossing of a strike zone, fowl line, goal line, or going through a hoop can be consistently and accurately known.
Not a bad thing. No more Angel Hernandez or Joe West who not only changed their strike zones from batter to batter but are/were insufferably arrogant to go with it.
It’s kinda weird. On the one hand we have the promise of technology and the pursuit of the perfectly called game. On the other we have James Earl Jones reciting the words of his character, Terrance Mann, in “Field of Dreams”. Can we have it both ways? — "The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. "

Meh. Angel Hernandez has been using artificial intelligence to call balls and strikes for over 30 years. He just THINKS it’s real.

Not AI. You don’t want machine learning. They should use existing sensor technology with fixed algorithms to get repeatable results.

Who should voice Dr. Tzap? Either Richard Horvitz or Jeff Bennett.

Baseball doesn’t have to be so digital and objective, the analog and subjective human umpires give the game life.

Rob Manfred should get some REAL intelligence instead of whatever he is using for brains. Let the guys play.

Why not 2023? Tech not advanced enough, or do they need to condition the fans slowly first?

Looks like Dr. Tzap has been experimenting on himself for several years, and the results are not good!

We won’t abandon the wooden bat, but we’ll have robot umpires?
