In this open minded age can’t a guy just want to dress up nice & look pretty without everyone assuming he’s gender fluid?

There is an old Barney Miller episode (‘78) where Harris dresses in drag for a undercover mugging detail. He looks so good, the other cops pause wherever they’re doing to stare and compliment him. “Hey,” he says, " I wanted to look good, not better".
