The love of fishing

So, he loves to fish.

Do you suppose that he’ll love swimming with some fish?

I can see one guy who will be sleeping on the couch.

“Wow, those are some fish! Honey, would you pass me some of the shiners fish bait?” “Sure Wiz, here comes a great big one right between your eyes!”

It may be Thor’s day today but Wiz preparing for fish Fry day tomorrow.

Dead man fishing……

“They” tell me that fish is good brain-food. And the Wiz is sure going to need it after Blanch knocks what brains he has, out for lack of common sense and intelligence.

Teach a wizard to fish, and his wife brains him.

Not the right place for that, Wiz.

Not exactly what Blanch had in mind…

Today’s strip would have suited the characters of Andy Capp and Flo. As I’ve said before, Andy Capp is my favourite strip after Calvin and Hobbes with two strips – Wizard of Id and Red and Rover – in competition for third place. I guess that the part of me which likes Calvin and Hobbes likes Red and Rover while the part which likes Andy Capp likes The Wizard of Id.

If he cleans what he catches, he might get away with it.

He was hoping to catch an angel fish….

I didn’t know the Wiz was a Jeff Foxworthy redneck?

Soon he will be sleeping with the fishes?

From what I know of the Wiz, he should be a feature in the tunnel.

I don’t know what she expected. If you don’t keep her in the center of that boat, it will roll over.

If I was in a relationship, I would act the same way, except my obsession would be watching sports, not fishing.

Poor Wiz may never see the light at the end of the tunnel!

If we don’t hook a perch or bass, we’ll cool our toes in dewy grass,

Or else pull up a weed to chaw, and maybe set and jaw.

Hangin’ around, takin’ our ease,

Watchin’ that hound a-scratchin’ at his fleas.

Come on, take down your fishin’ pole and meet me at The Fishin’ Hole,

I can’t think of a better way to pass the time o’ day.

And now we know what Wiz really loves :)

Reminds me of my husband. I don’t go out in a boat with him anymore for a number of reasons, being sunburned is only one. A local TV reporter was doing a piece on a salmon run a several years ago and noted that even a guy in a suit was fishing. It was my husband “making a few casts” between sales calls.
