Go ahead and charge, then file for bankruptcy.

Economics needs to be taught in school! Some people these days, don’t know the meaning of saving, budgeting and sacrifice.

The secret to responsibility is only charge what you can pay at the end of the month! Paid in full each month and no interest charged!

How interesting. It’s the principal/principle of the thing.

The only reason Broomie is 1500 years old is because she’s too poor to die.

Credit Card companies were targeting college students on dorm move in days. They set up a booth, “Come on in kids, your student loans may not bury you enough. Pay off a cheeseburger for 20 years.”

A credit card? For a person with a credit rating in the minus column?

every company under the sun wants to give us a credit card now, no questions asked, but in the fiscally responsible old days the bank where i kept my money refused to issue me a credit card. in fact, they wouldn’t even give me an application. i walked a couple steps to another window and shut down my account, informing the teller that i no longer trusted the bank with my money.

i obtained a card from another company and spent like a drunken sailor until the company took my card away… ☺

I handle paying the bills, and till the pandemic, I budgeted in some walking around money for hubs. We don’t use cash anymore, I’m not sure any stores in town even take it! We do keep coins, freaking vending machines in the hospital don’t take cards. And we spend time there sigh

We live with his parents, or we’d be in trouble :/ We pay for the Internet and streaming services, Dad pays the cable bill and other household expenses. We split the groceries. Hubs and I do the cooking usually (mother-in-law cannot cook).

We never go out to the movies, dinner, etc, and we figure that we save enough there to pay for streamers. I’m on Social Security disability from the US, and my husband has a Carer’s Allowance here in Australia. We manage. And I’m able to get gifts for the nieces and nephews fairly easily :)

Consider it Junk Mail, Broomie, the bane of America, which in our SNAFU system gets a much cheaper rate from the USPS than does First Class mail….
