Took in a senior cat a couple of years ago. He had no canine nor feline companionship. But he’s taken a shining to one of my dogs, absolutely no fear, likes to lie besides him.
I had a rooster and a dog who also did that. They took turns chasing each other, back and forth. Some days they seemingly didn’t think of stopping. Exhaustion didn’t get the best of them, but they did eat all the dog food and all the chicken food to make up for it.
Our Jelly-dog thinks she’s a cat. Our late mini-panther adopted her when we were fostering her :) And he arranged for our tuxie, Sultan, to take over when he went to the Rainbow Bridge… seriously, he is amazing with her!
And Jelly thinks Mum’s cat Sheba is her twin. So does Sheba. They both have white fur, though Jelly also has light brown patches :) I have photos of all three of them snuggled up together sleeping

Besides, the cat would clean Fred’s clock if he tried anything.

So happy to see!! (Years ago, when I’d had a basset and a cat, they did not at all get on. And, no, we weren’t “getting rid of” either one.)

Today’s “Bliss” has the same theme , only the dog is playing with a squirrel ;-)

Always nice to see Purrcia, but don’t be upset if she wins Fred. Cats are quick and agile.

Cats and dogs get along very well when folks forget to tell them they should be enemies! Go, Purrcy and Fred!

But who’s chasing whom? I’ve had dogs and cats who changed up during their games, from dog chasing cat to cat chasing dog.
