P4 Next morning at the Thorp residence: (Doorbell rings, Gil answers) “Sheriff Martinez, what are you doing here?” “Is your wife here? Pedro is on vacation and I’m the new pool boy!”
Gotta be impressed with The Gilfather. Whigham always draws Gil with tiny feet and he NEVER stumbles. More impressive after having a stiff old fashion.
Okay, so Big Hand Luke was “joking” about the bet. At least that makes sense. With the old writer he would have been serious. So Bethany has a thing for Gil? A guy she apparently sees only once a year when he gets his award? Or did they have a fling, and that’s why Mimi and the kids are missing? Probably not or their earlier dialog wouldn’t make sense. And speaking of not making sense, what makes less sense than the typical dialog in Mopped Up Thorp?
So according to a source on This Week In Milford, Gil has beaten VT 9 straight times and is 20-3 against them since 2001. No wonder Coach Drool was canned. Should have been sooner!

“It was only a joke!” is the last refuge of the scoundrel. (Well, probably the FIRST refuge, but eh.)

Did you bring your own color person with you, Henry? The panel color consistency has been outstanding

Beth is so emotional, all the color has drained from her mole.

Somebody call Dave Matthews, the ants are marching down Beth’s nose towards her mole.

P-1: The madder she gets, the closer her mole moves toward her nose.
P-2: Must explain Cone head humor to human.
P-3: As she whispers “good night”, her mole “gently weeps” (from almost under her nose). It must hurt to be mobile.

How about an Andy Capp crossover with Beth booting both Big Hand Luke and Andy out of the pub?
