I was hoping that they would continue Gretie’s saga with Bird. He plays a mean harmonica

Wait for it; I suspect Bird’ll turn up again, after another town or three, and he can’t get Gertie off his mind. These things take time to rise.

Jim was clever to defer the resolution of the Gertie and Earl story.

If you’re concerned, why did you ask Slim?

I guess the poor Pastor had no one else to call.

As for Gertie and Earl, I’m sure they’ll be back. After all Not Normon has to have something to gripe about.

Yeah, it took a week for the phone conversation between Slim and the pastor. I wonder how Gertie is holding out. You’re right Macushlalondra, I kinda miss NotNorman not doing his usual “end this arc”….LOL

The best part of this strip is the comments–just like everyone just sitting around gabbing :)

I like how Slim, despite his resume, exudes confidence. He apparently suffers from high self-esteem.

A few Sundays ago, Slim was mowing the church lawn. It is possible that he is the church sexton and would have a set of keys to the church.

Yes, Jim captures that guy– short memory for failure, boundless optimism that all will work out well– even to the point of expecting the same actions in the same situations to yield a different, better result.
