I definitely agree with Ben. Our lives are so regimented mostly due to work! I recently retired after working for the city for 40 years and believe me, it feels GREAT not having to get up at 4 and 5 a.m.! I also bought me a nice new car as a retirement present to myself, which I use to do fast food pickup and deliveries. Now THAT’S a cool job! The only thing you have to worry about is getting customers their orders in a reasonable amount of time, and keep a few bucks on hand for car maintenance. I think she should let Ben just chill for a while until he decides what he wants to get into and how he wants to spend his retirement.
I was 44 years in the clinical laboratory field doing important work but stressed to maintain standards and meets everyone’s needs, schedule and expectations. Now I am a face painter, balloon artist and magician and the only decision I have to make is whether or not to take a gig and then show up on time. Everything after that is just play !!
