Two older guys and a young woman solving mysteries? Wonder which show it was? It can’t be Murd3r She Wrote. I wouldn’t consider Jessica Fletcher a young woman. Diagnosis Murd3r? Although D1ck Van Dykke is an older man, he has his young son helping him, not his daughter. It must be Barnaby Jones then. How many actors do we want the network to kill tonight?

Now that’s short term memory loss. Though I can relate to that as I watch two episodes per night of a sitcom and have a hard time remembering the last episode the next night.

The only binge I ever do is the Decades Weekend Binge. This weekend it’s “Harry O”. I do stream “Judy Justice” on Freevee but only one episode a day.

I don’t stream, but I will watch entire disks of shows for the reason that the next time I watch that show, I won’t recall where I left off on that disk. But it is easy to show which was the last disk I saw.

As John Prine wrote: Blow up the TV; throw away the papers…. And that includes streaming…The only good streaming is what we used to call ‘tubing’….

I’m beginning to be more like Brutus…I’m glad there’s a “Previously on _____” reminder.

maybe watch the same episode multiple times a day. that way you won’t forget when you watch the next one the next day. :Dunless your more forgetful than I am then your kinda screwed either way. :}

Not to worry Brutus, they’ll recap it for you to remind you of the important points from previous episodes.

Ouch Chip. Close to home! Except for me it’s books. When I pick up a book I have to go back to previous chapters to remind myself what is going on.

See. They can agree. There only contention is how many shows to watch and how soon to watch them. She has to learn to help Brutus remember. That might just be a Herculean task however….

I’m retired, and I do have time to binge-watch, however, much less since I recently found free streams of chess tournaments and matches…

Brutus seems better suited to the old days, when episodes of TV series were largely self-contained and there weren’t story arcs that continued from one episode to the next.

Only Brutus Thornapple could manage to forget the name of the show he wants to watch, then watch it and forget what happened. There are no reruns in Brutus Thornapple’s life.

my only binge watch is the Three Stooges

When watching a movie with someone who has dementia, I have to remind that someone too many times what happened 15 minutes ago and that is why this is happening now.

There is logic to that.

I wonder if Brutus has the same problem with his real life. It would explain a lot.

Streaming on a tube TV, I don’t think so.

One or both of them will be asleep within 10 minutes, so does it really matter?

There are advantages and disadvantages to binge watching. It can be tiring, for one thing, and sometimes I want to stretch things out because I don’t want them to end too soon. On the other hand, nowadays, since so many episodes are connected somehow, watching one right after another gives a sense of continuity. I binge watch some things, and stretch others out.

They can be slept through. Also, they can be missed because of being dropped from the list before seeing them all.

That’s a short memory. I can see why he’s not the favourite employee where he works.

Last panel: I am with Brutus. Also, surely I’m not the only one reading this who’s old enough to remember when stream wasn’t used as a reference to programming…and also a time when the phrase “binge watch(ing)” didn’t exist.
