When we were kids (I am 70) my mom would buy cones and ice cream (separately) from the grocery store. I don’t recall that we bought cones (for home) when my kids were young. I haven’t had a cone of ice cream made at home for many decades. Have had them bought at ice cream stores though.

I’ve always hated store-bought ice cream becoming partially melted after driving home directly.
