A coworker asked me to see why her computer had slowed down. There were thousands of cookies from porn sites, all left in the wee hours of the morning. When I pointed out that the culprit had been sitting in her chair while on these sites she immediately got rid of it.
Remember the old days, when a popup ad for an adult site would pop up larger than the screen resolution, and there was not way to hit the close window box? If you didn’t know about Alt-F4, you would have to power your computer down.
In a way, Andi’s not wrong, because without the internet connection, you can’t download any malware. But it’s more likely that it’s from indiscriminately clicking on ads, or falling for the old “Your computer is infected – click here to clean it” trick.

Like everything else that goes wrong with that computer, it is somehow Roger’s fault.

If it wasn’t for the naughty sites the Internet would not exist.

I read somewhere that there are more religious sites than porn sites that carry malware.

This would have been pushing the envelope pretty hard for the comics page in 2001, I think.

Used to be, if you were in the MSWorks version of Word (waaay back), autocorrect would change zzz to sex.

So, is it actually showing sexual content or just the word “sex” ad infinitum?
