The only way you get a day in a row is if it is a week.

I think Brutus is trying to use humor to diffuse the situation, but the chief is either not getting it, or more likely as my kids say when I explain a dad joke, gets it but doesn’t want it.

My wife was late two days in a row and it turned into 9 months. ;-)

Well boss by the time I do my hair and make up….Actually, I just couldn’t see me being here a full 8 hours. I promise to be back from my long lunch almost on time. No? How about I leave early to make up for it?

Only Brutus has to run into the boss’s office to let the boss see he’s in late.

Actually, the boss has nothing on his desk. So he’s physically there but apparently doing nothing.

That’s great. Bosses always like to be corrected. Input from the rank and file are appreciated.

Brutus, Brutus, Brutus, The trend Veeblefester is speaking of is not being late, but being, well shall we say, a continuous dolt.

On average Brutus is a great guy, unlike Veeblefester.

It would blow old Veeblefesters mind in Brutus came in early several days in a row. When I was working, they wouldn’t let us clock-in unless it was less than five minutes to the scheduled time.

OK boss, from now on I won’t tell you when I’m late.

Brutus may be right about his non-trend setting tardiness, but correcting the boss after being late is never a good idea. The boss might reassess Brutus’ value to the company. Brutus might become late and canned.

“This is the forth time I’ve been late this week and it’s only Tuesday” -Cheech.

“I was in a store yesterday and saw the Halloween candy out.so when I got home I set all my clocks back an hour, so I wouldn’t forget.

If Brutus was late every single day, he would be in big trouble.

One day? Well that was only half as bad then.
