The strip for July 6, 1999 showed a middle-aged woman who’d accidentally let go of the leash chasing after her runaway small dog. Then she stopped, smiled, and said, “Thank you, Fred.” Our hero had planted one foot on the trailing leash as the other dog scampered past him. “Pleased to oblige, Mrs. Willard!”
Ummm…shouldn’t there be a weight thing on the bottom so Fred could actually grab ahold of something? Dog’s teeth can’t hold a string that thin as it goes through the gaps to slide out.
