Yeah, but when I talked to my high school counselor about being an architect, in 1960, based on the fact that I was the only girl who had taken mechanical drawing classes in the school’s memory and I made straight 100s on the assignments, he took about ten paragraphs to respond that it was a really cute idea, now, seriously, did I want to be a nurse, a secretary or a teacher—just until I got married and stayed home with my kids, of course.
I remember when I wanted to be an astronaut. For some reason, I thought the U.S. Air Force Academy would be a good start. I was wrong. It would have been better to accept honors-at-entrance at Berkeley and pick up a couple of Ph. D.s. I’ll know better … next time. :)
When my dad took shop in his high school, he was supposed to make an ash tray. However, he had the wood (oak) all cut for a desk before his teacher knew. This was approx. 1936. My nephew now uses that desk. I wanted it, but Dad made it with a left knee-hole, since he was right-handed. I am left-handed, so couldn’t use it very well.

I don’t remember ever thinking that cowboy was realistic, but pilot and astronaut sounded good.

Is this a pattern for the past month and a half that every week for daily Pickles strips 3 days are new 2022 strips and 3 days are rerun strips?

Earl probably wonders how possible it may have been to have a less nagging and insulting wife.

My favourite aunt died a painful death from cancer and Doctor Leonard McCoy could cure anything. My path in life was clear from the age of 6.

When he was young, a pilot asked him if he was ever in the gym’s shower with grown men … but then was interrupted when his fish dinner was served.
