One thing I do know about Bassets…they like to roll in anything smelly in order to disguise their own scent. ( I once saw a Basset hound roll on a dead fish for just that purpose. )

I’ve often wondered something when I read this strip.
What is it, exactly, that Basett Hounds are bred for? I would assume it has something to do with fox hunting. Is that so?
