Doesn’t dad have the concept of a “dog-door” (basically same as “cat-door”, but for dog-owner)?

You wouldn’t want a soaked, probably muddy dog coming in through a flap. They would be bound to shake and splatter the room, before depositing themselves on whatever comfy soft furnishing they can get onto.

Poor Fred! At least he’s got a shed.

Fred, you are safe in the shed till you get dry up and wait for your masters to get home sooner.

When will the folks with the food arrive? (This was a video on Letterman years back, and extremely funny. If anybody knows a link, please post.)

Fred Bassett is the anti-Garfield. Decent vs. crass. Sort of like the Village Green Preservation Society on the comics page.

Fred, quit you’re moping, and start you’re mopping. You’re leaving a giant puddle.

When my dogs come in from a rainy walk, they get up on the sofa and roll around until they are dry.
