This could work, but there are two issues Nate needs to sort out: 1. Does he know every exact detail of the vase he broke? 2. Does he have enough money?

How hard is it going to be not only find an exact copy of the original vase, but cough up money to buy said copy?

Well, it’s original, but it’s still flawed. He’s only seen the vase for five seconds while it was whole. And he doesn’t have any money, unless he’s going to mooch off of Dee Dee.

Best solution is to do both. Tell Mrs. Godfrey that you broke the vase, but that you replaced it. Nate would go up several notches in her estimation.
