    Sounds like a place to which Andy himself wouldn’t want to go. Where’s he going to find a poor sap of a chap from which to ask for a (free) pint at the pub?

    Well, that’s not much of a holiday. Certainly won’t inspire Andy.

    @ Number Three Today’s strip IS funny our HERO Mr Andrew Capp’s idea of an idyllic place is the distance to a nearest pub :o) my Avatar again is a picture of my birth sign Leo roating because he’s i a good mood like I am, how was your day? ours should be quite calm , with no shopping to do or errands to run, just stay inside the house and keep hydrated because i’s hot outside , keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady

    Chalkie isn’t the bum his mooching “pal” is.

    He just wrote what would be of interest to Capp.

    Wrong! I’ve quoted Chesterton on this before… But here’s the crux of the matter: ‘Where all the people lived who supported all the public houses was in this, as in many other English villages, a silent and smiling mystery.’ Of course, a pub is short for public house….

    How can it be idyllic if the nearest pub is miles away?

    It’s the only news that can distract our hero from reading what I assume is the racing form.

    Andy doesn’t strike me as the fresh air country type, so I am sure he will give Chalkie a hard time on how he spent his vacation.

    That sucks. About the “nearest” pub being miles away. If I’m completely honest if I was in the countryside, I’d still want to stop at a pub for a Coke. Especially if the weather was very warm like it has been over here today.

    @Afficionado

    Hey, Affie.

    Today I met up with my friend and we went to the beach. It was a very warm day but I made sure to put sunscreen on before I left the house. It was lovely. Meeting up with friends can be a real tonic.

    I am currently at the library but I was doing some work related stuff on the computer. I was reading over some policies and procedures, induction notes etc as part of my training before I start my new volunteering job. I couldn’t concentrate very well because of the heat (That sounds lame, I know) so I’m going to re-read them at home or even better tomorrow at my Wednesday volunteer job. I am not leaving that one. This new volunteer role is for a different day of the week.

    Ever since I got paid in Euros from that “Cash Em’ All” game my PayPal balance is either increasing or decreasing due to the currency exchange rates and I’m pleased to say it’s increased by a whole 3p. It now stands at £132.24. Subject to change!

    Stay safe, stay well, stay cool and stay happy, pal.
