Doing the Twist is not a big problem. Doing the Untwist is.

The twist ain’t nothin’ but the old time shimmy nowadays.

Grandma did it, and my grandpa too.

Well, Chubby brought it back and call it the twist nowadays.

(Bear in mind that John Lee Hooker was talking about HIS grandparents, and he was born in 1917…)

I was at my niece’s wedding last summer; I was walking across the dance floor to the bar – with my fairly-recent cane and leg brace – and threw down some twist (to the great hilarity of many great -nieces & -nephews). Yep, everyone.

My enthusiasm for the Twist is usually limited, but in this case I make an exception:
