El, just tell him you invited his girlfriend to see his room. It will be cleaned up in seconds!

Oh yes, that is one of the oldest mysteries in the world and it still has no answer!

Judging by the first panel, Mike’s thoughts are just one note.

Not all teens are the lazy slobs that cartoonists make them out to be.

Frank and Nancy Degroot want to swap stories about their own futile efforts to get their daughter Luann to clean her room with you, Elly.

My brother was a slob growing up. But when he got his own place it was spotless. There is still hope.

There’s no mystery, Elly. You Patterfoobs eat like debased pigs.

Elly’s problems with Michael and Elizabeth’s messiness can be handled in two words: Boarding school!

A few years ago, I was all a-twitter, expecting a new gentleman caller. A male friend of mine told me not to spend much time cleaning my apartment since “men don’t care about things like that”. My friend, my new friend, and I were all in our late 60s. Some things never change!

I have never been a whiz at house keeping and neither of my two kids are. I live with my son in his house — he pays the bills and lets me live here for free. We all have many good qualities so who gives three hoots and a holler if aren’t neat?

Imagine if there was a strip where Elly looks pleased with a clean tidy bedroom, then looks in surprise to see Michael with greasy, unkempt hair, dirty clothes, unwashed skin, and a cloud of dirt that follows him wherever he goes.
