I wonder if the bus driver can refuse to pick them up?

We should improve society somewhat.

I don’t think the bus company has anything to worry about. These guys aren’t going to be able to pull off a boycott!

Oh, the irony of it all..

In the fourth panel the angry black shadow people seem to be humbled. They have turned into gray shadows.

I wondered when that would occur to them. If they can’t even march 12 blocks, the bus company should raise the fares even further; they have a captive audience.

Seems like Lynn was at the stage of this strip where emphasis was on characters’ lower teeth.

I wonder if there were any characters that didn’t have lower teeth!!

Who didn’t see THAT coming?

Kids’ voices tend not to be heard. A friend of mine, due to family circumstances, had to transfer from a Catholic school to public. Unfortunately, his religious classes’ credits – which were mandatory – weren’t transferred over, so he was short credits to advance. I started a petition, stating the unfairness of it; after all, as I said, the classes were mandatory. While I wasn’t popular, my friend was, so I got a lot of signatures on my petition…which was soundly ignored.

Some perspective on what ails you.

Here’s irony for you: we all lived in North Vancouver and had to take the bus into the city in order to protest the bus fare hike.

At their age, that shouldn’t be a problem!

If you can’t walk the 12 miles then don’t protest

Why are only the white kids protesting?

Wait until they learn what the actual boycott is going to involve. :-)

This is the exact reason that the smart protesters of the 60’s came up with the sit in. A much less strenuous form of protesting.

Man, it’s expensive to boycott something.

Planning…it’s about planning?

On average 12 blocks is about one mile which they should be able to walk in < 20 minutes. Kind of silly then to wait 15+ minutes for a bus, pay the inflated fare, then walk from the bus stop to transit offices.

12 blocks? Ha! Try a 20 mile “forced march” with full field pack and combat gear weighi9ng you down.

There goes the message…

So it’s ’bout three to four miles depending on the length of the block. Standard city blocks are either third or a fourth of a mile, if my memory serves me right.

I’m vehemently against social injustice as long as I don’t have to step outside my comfort zone.
