I can’t understand the rancor engendered by a toilet seat in the up position. If a man has to lift it (you’re welcome) why can’t a woman lower it? I’ve heard the argument of sitting down expecting the seat to be there and it’s not. And what if the lid is closed? Anyone who would walk into a room, pull down their pants and sit down on something they hadn’t looked at probably deserves pretty much whatever happens. OK. I’ll take my soapbox and go.

I always put the lid down before flushing. It’s more sanitary and keeps dropped items from falling into the toilet.
