When the company that my late loving wife worked for was sold, the new owners claimed everyone was like family and that they wanted all employees to include their family in all work events. They lied, not once were any spouses invited to any work events. That did create some tensions with the employees, and many times my loving wife couldn’t make it to the event because of that.
