Gone are the days when the school supplied everything and you just paid them one flat fee. :P

Even when my OWN kids were in school (back in the 90s), I thought those lists were getting ridiculous when they said how many folders you need and what colors. When I went to school (back in the Stone Age, of course), we bought ourselves a large 3-ring binder with lined paper that had holes for it. The binder came with dividers for each subject and you could add or subtract the loose-leaf paper as needed. You could, of course, add some extra spiral notebooks if necessary. So simple. And no requirements about how many, what colors, what type. It was an individual choice.

I went to school in the 50s and 60s. School supply lists were so simple. #2 pencils, notebook paper, spiral notebook, and folders.

Rumours insinuate slates will again be the norm in schools.
