Labor day is 1st May

Weather-wise, fall pretty much starts at the beginning of September.

Time to unplug the bug zapper…..and welcome the fruit flies to the kitchen.

All through my school years Labor Day was the last holiday before heading back to school. It was a surprise to learn later on that in some places it started in mid-to-late-August.

Poor Wiz, Labor day is the unofficial end of summer. Don’t worry summer will continue till Thursday, September 22 and summer will return on June 21, 2023 in Northern Hemisphere. The election will be over, the sun will be out, and the future’s so bright, I have to wear shades. Beach party!!!!

For me, the MLB All-Star Game signals the beginning of the end.

I live in a summer tourist destination area. We live for US labor day. All the tourists go home and we have our town back until next Memorial Day. Yeah!

The bugs really don’t care.

I was outside at a party on Saturday and finally got tired of the bees coming at me and started swatting them away. I am absolutely terrified of bees, wasps, and hornets and such to the point I don’t even take time to decide which one they are. I generally fly like the wind when I see one. I was just totally creeped out every time my hand touched one on Saturday. They were all furry. As far as I know, no one got stung. They even went after the diet soft drinks, which made no sense at all.

Does anyone else remember going back to school in warm weather but wearing new school clothes that were for fall/winter weather?
