The joke might have been better if he’d replied to “color of your money” with “That’s color discrimination!” Perhaps this one is more subtle as it allows us to make the link between “color” and “discrimination”.
All American money is the same boring green color. Our money here in Iceland is different colors depending on the denomination, so the color of your money actually matters. Also, you can tell what you have, even if you have bad eyesight.
